Poppy is a collection of dining chairs and multifunctional chairs poppy plus. The aim is to design the image of a group of chairs being ramdomly placed together to express the concept of ”spatial collage”. It was inspired by the paintings of Joan Miró, whose painting are irregularly composed by dots, lines and surfaces, floating in an endless space. To some degree, chairs are considered as the boundary of space. By applying bright colors and artistic form, poppy chairs are expected to reinforce the spatial identity.
The metal structure can be disassembled and folded for smaller package. The curvy plywood backrests with a visually welcoming language also working as an armrests. It is replaceable with various shapes and colors serving different context.
